Japan-Kyushu Delegation for Frontier Semiconductor Technology Collaborations and More

As a leading university cultivating semiconductor talent, NYCU has consistently dedicated itself to creating opportunities for international talent exchanges and discussions. Leveraging the university’s extensive experience in this domain, NYCU hosted a Japan-Kyushu Delegation to exchange views and explore collaborations in cutting-edge semiconductor technology.

On February 10, the Japan-Kyushu Delegation visited NYCU, fostering potential bilateral talent exchanges and strengthening Japan-Taiwan cross-border ties in the semiconductor industry. The Delegation comprised forty members from the government (Kyushu Bureau of Economy, Trade, and Industry, Japan), industry, and academia.

Dr. Ta-Sung Lee, Senior Vice President; Dr. Jenn-Hwan Tarng, Vice President; Prof. Li-Chun Wang, Dean of the College of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Prof. Po-hung Chen, Director of the Institute of Electronics, extended a warm welcome to the Delegation.

Prof. Po-hung Chen, a University of Tokyo alumnus, showcased NYCU’s exceptional semiconductor research and development achievements to the Delegation. His presentation sparked engaging conversations about talent cultivation, course design, and industry connections. The Japanese delegates expressed particular interest in learning from NYCU’s approach to fostering a favorable ecosystem by effectively integrating academic and industrial resources.

“We will bridge academia and industry to enhance our cooperation with NYCU,” said a Kyushu Bureau of Economy and Industry officer. The Chief of the Japan-Kyushu delegation also expressed gratitude to NYCU. This event paves the way for additional bilateral exchange opportunities. As the hosting university, NYCU is delighted to have facilitated the visit and eagerly anticipates future partnerships.
